Today was the fourth round of the Edinburgh Apprentice competiton. Nine student teams were given a couple of days to develop an analysis of Vexed Apparel, an Edinburgh company supplying clothing to university societies. I was one os the jusdges alonmg with my coilleague Stephen Harwood, Ross West from Ernst & Young, and Rory Skinner, the founder of Vexed. Given the short time available to prepare, all the presentations were excellent. Different teams focused on different aspects of the buisness, from its use of social media, through the website and the branding, to longer term-term strategies for expanding the business internationally. Best of luck to the twenty candidates who survived this round and progressed to the semi-finals and commiserations to the candidates eliminated.
